A Few Days in Paris with Den Dama
A few days in Paris, spent looking ahead to the seasons to come. Our latest buying trip took us around the city to discover the SS27 collections, selecting new pieces that will arrive at Den Dama in March and April. From Nili Lotan, Sea New York and Ulla Johnson to Isabel Marant, Guest in Residence, Haikure and more, the days were filled with showroom visits, new collections and plenty of decisions about what to bring home. In between the busy schedule, we made time for good food, long walks through the streets of Paris and a little people-watching, always keeping an eye out for inspiration. Here’s a look at a few moments from Paris, and a little of what’s to come at Den Dama.
First Stop: Ulla Johnson
After a quick morning croissant and coffee on the way, we headed to our first showroom of the trip: Ulla Johnson. We couldn’t have been more excited to see the SS27 collection after such a beautiful runway show, and it was lovely to get a closer look at all the details. Known for her romantic silhouettes, intricate craftsmanship and beautiful use of colour and texture, Ulla Johnson always brings something special to the table. The showroom gave us the chance to explore the collection in more detail, discover new favourites and pick out the pieces we can’t wait to bring to Den Dama next spring.
Nili Lotan
Next up was Xirena, with a little lunch break in between before heading to Nili Lotan. The showroom was just as beautiful as we’d hoped, with a timeless, understated aesthetic that feels so true to the brand. It was lovely to see the new SS27 collection up close, from the effortless silhouettes to the thoughtful details that make Nili Lotan such a favourite. We spent some time going through the collection and selecting pieces for the seasons ahead, with plenty to look forward to when they arrive at Den Dama next spring.
A quick stop at australian shevoke
Next, we stopped by Australian eyewear brand Shevoke, where the showroom was just as cool as the sunglasses themselves. For SS27, we wanted to try something a little bolder, picking out oversized frames and tinted lenses in playful colours. A fresh take on everyday eyewear, with a little more attitude and a few statement styles we can’t wait to share with you next spring.
Ending Day One with Sea New York
We wrapped up our first day in Paris at Sea New York, and we have to say, the new SS27 collection really impressed us. It’s one of those brands where you want to take everything home. Romantic, playful and full of beautiful details, Sea New York has a way of making feminine pieces feel both special and easy to wear. From delicate embroidery and pretty prints to the little details that make each piece stand out, there was so much to love. Needless to say, we all found a few favourites, and we can’t wait for you to discover them when they arrive at Den Dama next spring.
Starting Day Two: Haikure and Vince
After wrapping up the first day with dinner and a beautiful sunset over the Eiffel Tower, we were ready for another full day of showrooms. First up was Haikure, where we found plenty to get excited about for SS27. Alongside the denim we know and love, the new collection plays with unexpected materials and fun prints, while keeping that cool, effortless feel that makes the brand so easy to wear. There were lots of interesting details and new favourites to add to our selection.
From there, we headed to Vince, where the mood was a little more understated. Think timeless, classy pieces, beautiful materials and the kind of elevated basics that make getting dressed feel effortless. We spent time looking at the fabrics, fits and details, choosing pieces that will work season after season. Two very different collections, but both full of things we can’t wait to bring to Den Dama next spring.
A New Addition: The Journey
One of the exciting parts of buying is discovering brands we haven’t had in store before. This time, we came across The Journey, a new addition to Den Dama that will be arriving in store for the first time in November. We fell for its cool, understated aesthetic and the focus on quality materials, with pieces that feel both modern and easy to wear. We’re always looking for brands that bring something new to our selection while still feeling true to Den Dama, and The Journey felt like a natural fit. We can’t wait for you to discover it for yourselves very soon.
A Favourite We Always Come Back To: Guest in Residence
Of course, no Paris buying trip would feel complete without a visit to Guest in Residence. A firm favourite of ours, the brand’s approach to cashmere is something we keep coming back to season after season. Made from 100% cashmere, the pieces combine beautiful quality with relaxed silhouettes and colours that make them easy to wear every day.
We love how Guest in Residence makes knitwear feel special without overcomplicating it, creating pieces you’ll want to reach for year after year. We spent time selecting our favourites for SS27, with new colours and styles to look forward to when the collection arrives at Den Dama next spring.
Ending on a High Note: Isabel Marant
We couldn’t think of a better way to round off our Paris buying trip than with Isabel Marant. The brand has that effortless Parisian attitude we always come back to, mixing relaxed tailoring, cool everyday pieces and just the right amount of edge. We spent time going through the SS27 collection and picking out the pieces that felt most Den Dama, with plenty of great styles to look forward to next spring.
It’s always exciting to see a new collection up close, discover the details and decide which pieces we think you’ll love just as much as we do. Now comes the hard part: waiting until March and April to see it all arrive in store. 🤎
